Job Description: Senior Healthcare Support Workers (Graduate Psychologists)
Professionally and Managerially
Responsible to: Registered Manager
Accountable to: Directors of Mild Professional Homes Ltd.
Qualifications
• A graduate degree in psychology
• It is expected that the post holder will undertake In Service training to the degree required for the post in the time required – this will be identified and pursued through regular IPRs.
Experience
• Experience of working with people with a Learning Disability and / or mental health problems is an advantage. Previous voluntary work in the caring field would also add value.

In return, in addition to the general care and supportive role in relation to clients’ care. The Senior Healthcare Worker will be expected to use their psychological training to support the Care Support Workers in the day-to-day support and care of the clients and to be able to communicate more robust information to the Multidisciplinary team to aid management reviews and treatment interventions.
Role Statement
To assist in the creation of a homely environment and to participate in a wide range of activities. This will include Individual Assessment and Programme Planning with the clients under the guidance of the Home Manager, Deputy Manager, the unit Assistant Psychologist, Nursing and Medical Staff.
To aid in the development of relationships, increasing contact with the local community, friends, relatives and acquaintances.
This will involve a degree of positive risk taking, but the staff will maintain the Health and Safety of the people in their care without infringing on the rights of the individual to develop both physically and mentally. The individual’s needs and preferences will be respected at all times.
It is expected, as part of this post, that you will be working unsupervised for periods of time.
Position in the Organisation:
Senior Healthcare Support Workers will report to the Shift Leader and be accountable to the Manager/Deputy.
Scope and Authority:
To work under the direction and supervision of the Shift Leader or Manager/Deputy.
