Are you a Secondary ESBD Teacher with a proven background experience of working with students with Emotional and Social Behaviour Difficulties ? Are you looking for a position where you can make a real impact on the development of students who may have had tough time in education so far?
Our client are established and continue to be run by Child Care practitioners to assist young people in a crisis, prevent placement breakdown and to improve life chances. Our client offer placements to young people aged 11-18 years who experience emotional, behavioural difficulties and display challenging and risk taking behaviours and are now looking to recruit a teacher who can work within the Education Department delivering the schools Curriculum to young people who have experienced family crisis.
Key responsibilities;
- Manage a group of up to ten students with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties
- Deliver and develop curriculum areas as delegated by the Head of Education
- Ensure students receive regular careers advice from Careers Advisor
- Work with Education staff to complete diagnostic tests and N.C. Attainment Target Level Assessments for each student within six weeks of their arrival at the Education Unit
- Produce reports for annual reviews of Statements of Special Educational Needs and Social Service Statutory Reviews.
- Ensure each student's social worker, education personnel and parents, (where appropriate) receive half-termly progress reports.
The successful ESBD Teacher will have:
- Experience of working with ESBD in an educational setting
- Good standard in Key Skills of Communication, Application of Number and Information Technology
- Ability to take responsibility for the pastoral care of young people
- Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm
- Ability to understand the issues facing young people
