Assistant Accountant
Our client, a friendly, specialist based in central Bath are seeking an Accounts Assistant for general accounting and bookkeeping duties. Our client requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal plus high levels of numeracy – you must also have experience in computer based book-keeping!
Sales Ledger
• Receiving, banking and account for all monies received, following Company procedures and resolving any discrepancies
• Allocate daily banking monies onto system
• Deposit the banking daily
• Provide weekly/monthly debtor reports
• Key daily bank statement credits and debits
• Run customer statements at month end
• Liaise with Credit Controller with debt collection
Purchase Ledger
• Register Purchase invoices daily and distribute accordingly
• Tie up advice/delivery notes with invoices where necessary
• Enter authorised Purchase invoices onto the accounting system
• Reconcile Supplier statements and make monthly BACS / cheque payments
• Liaise with suppliers on issues under query and resolve
• Input BACS / cheque payments
Other Duties
• Maintain and post petty cash weekly and key petty cash invoices weekly/monthly
• Ensure Bank Reconciliation is completed daily/monthly
• All filing to be done and maintained daily
• Answer telephone, deal with basic accounts queries, send out copy documents
• VAT returns
• Possible involvement with payroll
• Any other ad hoc duties as requested
